Ambient lighting creates the overall glow of an outdoor space. String lights are especially effective over patios, decks and dining areas because they spread warm light across a larger area without feeling harsh. A warm color temperature around 2700K helps create that relaxed, welcoming evening atmosphere.

Task Lighting

Light Where You Need It

Task lighting is practical lighting placed where visibility matters—beside an entrance, along steps or near an outdoor work area. A wall lantern beside the door helps illuminate locks, pathways and visitors while also adding character to the entrance. For outdoor fixtures, look for weather-resistant construction and appropriate outdoor ratings.

Accent Lighting

Highlight the Details

Accent lighting draws attention to the features you want noticed after dark. Landscape spotlights can illuminate trees, stone walls, architectural details and garden beds, adding depth instead of simply making the entire yard brighter.
